Johnny Vander Meer, playing for the Cincinnati Reds, pitched the second of two consecutive no-hitters.  The Cincinnati Reds beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 6-0, at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, New York.  Four days earlier, he had pitched his first no-hitter.
