In game 5 of the World Series, Jim Bagby, playing for the Cleveland Indians, became the first pitcher in World Series history to hit a home run.  The Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Robins (Red Sox), 8-1.  The game was played at League Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
