Baseball’s first “Ladies’ Day” took place in New York City at the Polo Grounds as the New York Gothams (now known as the San Francisco Giants) offered free admission for women to a game against the Cleveland Spiders. The New York Gothams beat the Cleveland Spiders, 5-2.
