In game 4 of the World Series, the Brooklyn Dodgers catcher Mickey Owens dropped a third strike and the batter Tom Hendrick for the New York Yankees reached first base safely; this would have been the last out of the game, but instead, the New York Yankees scored 4 runs and won 7-4.  The Game was played at Ebbets Field.  The New York Yankees won the World Series 4 games to 1.
