Leroy “Satchel” Paige made his debut in the Major Leagues playing for the Cleveland Indians. He relieved Bob Lemon in the top of the fifth. He pitched two scoreless innings against the St. Louis Browns. He spent more than twenty years in the Negro Leagues before being allowed to perform in the Major Leagues. He is considered to be the greatest ballplayer of all time in the Negro Leagues.
